AZA16 encourages delegates to explore its context: the vibrant precinct of neighbouring Braamfontein, new cool kid on the Joburg block, and dynamic home to art galleries, design and clothing stores, trendy coffee houses, restaurants, bars, hotels and markets.
Explore the area during lunch, or join up with First Thursdays on Thursday 1st September for extended gallery opening hours.
On the edge of Braamfontein, just opposite OLS, the AZA16 HUB will connect you with this burgeoning district of culture and cool. Join us at the HUB for the public presentation of the Student Housing Masterclass and Future Braam exhibition opening on Thursday evening. And meet at the HUB to begin the tours on Saturday afternoon. The AZA16 HUB is on the ground floor of Noswal Hall, 1 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein.
Reimagining Braamfontein is a flagship Wits programme which promises further transformations of this vibrant urban node where the university and the city engage with each other. The project will address residential provision for students and staff, commercial activity, incubation centres and urban regeneration.
