This workshop will give participants an understanding of how branding, marketing and communications can assist design offices to meet their design and commercial goals. It looks at the tools that are available to professionals to communicate with their marketplace and how these should be used to respond to the very specific needs of the professional firm. It looks at the relationship between the market, the marketing process and the architectural strategies that particular firms may wish to pursue.
Participants can be students or professionals. Limited to 30 people. It’s important that participants bring their laptops.

Professor Lago-Novás is PhD candidate at the ESAYA University of Madrid. His Research Proficiency is about architecture practices management and the implications of business decisions in their design strategy. He combines his professional practice as Principal of DSC Architecture, a research office for innovation in architecture, with his position as Vice Chairman of the Juan de la Cosa Foundation, an organization that helps to promote Spanish architecture internationally. Juan is also lecturer and visiting critic in various international universities.
