Yashaen Luckan
Yashaen Luckan is a practising architect, doctoral candidate at UKZN, as well as an academic at Durban University of Technology, where he teaches, theory, urban design and design studio. His research is focused in two principle areas, namely, architectural education, and urbanism. Luckan has a critical position with regard to architectural theory and practise whereby he argues for a humanistic approach with a view to developing places with due regard to people, place and time. This philosophy, furthermore, guides his transformation agenda as the President of the South African Council for the Architectural Profession.
Karuni Naidoo
Karuni Naidoo is a Professional Architect who runs CNN Architects. She completed her studies at UKZN in 1988, and has led CNN Architects since 1995.
Karuni submitted a proposal to SACAP for gender transformation, and is developing and leading the SACAP “Women in Architecture SA” Programme.
